Episode 16 - Potpourri

After three weeks of focusing on Black metal and its various subgenres, I am back to giving you a mix of sounds, and what a mix it is.  I'm all over the place in this episode, so you better bring your road map.  I also want to give you a heads up that I will be doing a year end special next week.  I have my favorite 15 Creative Commons albums (that I play on this show) which were released in 2015.  I'm in the process of organizing them into my top 10, with 5 honorable mentions.  Before I give you this weeks playlist, I want to tell you what those albums are in alphabetical order, so you can start listening.  I'd like everybody to let me know their favorites, and then I'll announce a "People's Champ" two weeks from now.  Maybe I'll even see if I can get an interview with you choice.  Please check these bands out, spread the word, and vote.  Leave your vote in the comments or email me.  Here are my top fifteen in alphabetical order:

Episode 13 - Blackened Friday Part 1

I tried to put together a massive playlist of Black Metal and Blackened subgenres to provide an alternative to the corporate zombie nightmare that is Black Friday in the United States.  Seriously, if you are out shopping on that day, you are doing it wrong.  You're feeding the corporatocracy that has created or at least strengthened the class system in this nation.  Time to help make it stop.  I response, I wanted to provide a playlist of misanthropic and anti-corporate mayhem.  Due to other commitments and technical difficulties, I didn't get it up in time.  I apologize.  Next year I'll start earlier, and hopefully provide some rants as well.  Given the them, I am forgoing my normal opening music, but rest assured, Santa Marta Golden will be back when I get this out of my system.  I think I will end up with three of these.  I hope you enjoy.  As always, comments are welcome.

The Power is Out

We had a big storm last night which knocked my power.  The power company says we won't get it back until Wednesday night sometime late.  Because I need to deal with all the details that come with that, I am running a rerun this week.  You'll be hearing episode 7, which matches my mood today.  Scroll on down to see what is playing.  Sorry I won't be able to join you on the chat tonight.

A Call for Help

Hello all.  I want to ask your help.  I am in the middle of preparing for episode 12 and discovered that I had inadvertently downloaded and was adding to the playlist a neo-Nazi band under the guise of Odinism.  I was simply not paying enough attention in all the business of my life.  I am actively opposed to Fascism in all its forms both from a human rights perspective and as a political statement.  Needless to say, this band has been wiped clean from my computer and will not get airtime, nor even be mentioned by name.  However, I realize I almost missed it and may make a similar mistake in the future, or may have already made such a mistake, especially with bands not performing in English.  If you catch something I missed, please, please, please let me know and I will make it right.  Just email me at hayduke495@gmail.com.
